If you were under any doubt that fall has thudded into Northern California, well, the low temps at night over the weekend shoulda cleared that outta your head. Though the skies were blue and clear, the brr in the air was an indication that it is surely coming to the end of the year.
Wanna do a quick shout out to a couple of trucks that I had the pleasure of trying their cuisine. Last week I was able to hit Moveable Feast at Palo Alto Square and tried Waffle Amore’s bacon cheddar waffle. Crispy waffle with a tender middle layered with bacon. Criss crossing over the top is sour cream drizzle and a mound of shredded cheddar with a healthy sprinkle of green onions. Like the lady said it was a lot like a fully loaded baked potato. But even more delicious. I happened upon Oh Miso Hungry on Friday as I was running errands in Mountain View and got a chance to talk with Justin, one of the owners of the truck. Thank you, dude, for taking the time to talk with me a bit about the food truck industry and also for sharing with me your amazing pork belly sandwich. So much pork belly I had to take most of it home to share with my hubs (who almost bogarted it away from me).
Good way to get your mojo for the week is get some good food at a mobile cuisine. If you’re in the fine city of San Francisco, head over to Mint Plaza for Urban Table. There is an Off the Grid over at Vallejo and Front Streets. SoMa Streat Food Park or San Francisco Gift Center and Jewelry Mart also offers you some chances for good grub. Dinner a better option for you? Willows Market in Menlo Park has a few trucks and butterscotch pudding too! In South San Jose? Moveable Feast rolls to Blossom Hill Road. Out in the East Bay you can do the Off the Grid at the Hayward Triangle Lot.

Monday, Monday. How was your weekend, folks? Get out and about? Weather positively screams fall-ish. Felt a tad humid to me yesterday but still beautiful to behold.
In one of the arguments about how food trucks operate with an unfair advantage over brick and mortar, the operating costs get pulled up. In a way, yes it is cheaper to run a truck over a B&M. But there are also the same costs that are considered with the uptick in food materials costs as well as … gasoline. A few trucks (Frysmith comes to mind in LA) run on biodiesel but the vast majority run on petrol.
